The Lancashire Witches

Would you die for your belief?

ABOUT THE SHOW

It's 1612 Lancashire, the local women face trial for witchcraft. Watch as they fight for their lives in this gripping, immersive courtroom drama.

The Lancashire Witches is a new-writing play based on the true story of witch trials that targeted impoverished Northern women. This untold story follows the women as they fight to save their community from being murdered for 'witchcraft.'

This story is central to Pendle's local history and the most well-recorded witch trials in Europe. The story is wildly entertaining with feuding families, hysterical Kings and ambitious witch hunters. However, this is more than a historical drama, it aims to expose the continuing failure of the government to support Northern people. This play shows audiences the conditions that allowed this to occur and that not much has changed...
